Huawei successfully concluded numerous LTE field tests and trials with Vodafone,China mobile,Softbank and other world's leading operators. The peak data rate on the downlink reaches 173 Mbps, which sets a new record in terms of wireless transmission peak data rate, and the data rate on the uplink is 84Mbps.

To meet the increasing demand for mobile broadband services, TeliaSonera signed the world’s first commercial LTE contract with Huawei in January 2009 to construct an LTE network in Oslo, the capital of Norway. On December 14, 2009, this LTE network was commercially launched, offered maximum speeds of up to 100 Mb/s and are approximately 10 times faster than existing 3G networks.
